SMPS's July Happy Hour event will focus on the Colorado Housing market at Raíces Brewery. The event will host a panel of industry experts eager to share the latest trends and developments in the state's housing market. Affordable housing will be a significant topic of discussion, with speakers sharing insights into building more affordable homes without sacrificing quality or sustainability. Despite the industry's challenges, there will be a sense of excitement and optimism as panelists share their passion for creating high-quality, sustainable communities for Colorado residents. With so many exciting developments on the horizon, attendees will leave feeling inspired and energized about the future of the state's housing construction market and informed of upcoming projects. Your registration includes access to the event, plus one drink ticket and appetizers.

A results-oriented leader with more than 20 years of experience in customer service, Maggie is passionate about creating and maintaining partnerships mutually beneficial to clients, industry partners, and Palace Construction. As Director of Client Relations, Maggie understands that a client’s experience during construction contributes to a project’s overall success. With her high emotional intelligence, Maggie skillfully manages communication to support the team in meeting the client’s expectations. Her main goal is ensuring each client has a positive experience during construction. Maggie believes providing long-term value to clients, owners, design partners, and consultants promotes lasting business relationships. Maggie works diligently to maximize opportunities for the firm and their strategic partners. A successful business developer who is well-known and respected in the Denver Metro area, Maggie is sought out to train and mentor other professionals in the design and construction industry. Maggie is also avid about community service and volunteers her time personally and professionally to help the underserved.

Nick Allen
Development Manager
Revesco

Nick Allen is the development manager for Revesco Properties and is responsible for site selection, due diligence, underwriting, and design management for the company’s development projects. Nick is a native of Boulder, Colorado, received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Kansas, and a Masters of Real Estate and the Built Environment from the University of Denver. Nick is a licensed architect in Colorado, and in his 13 years as a built-environment professional, he has designed and managed a variety of projects, including commercial office, multi-family, healthcare, and higher education. He is a member of NAIOP Colorado, and passionate about mentoring and working with students and young professionals as they grow into their careers in the field of Real Estate, Design, and Construction. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, climbing high peaks, and exploring the world with his wife and Golden Retriever.

Braden is an experienced professional with a strong background in construction management and project budgeting/scheduling, accumulating nine years of industry expertise. His diverse portfolio includes overseeing the build-out of a master-planned community and leading the ground-up construction of multi-family affordable housing projects. In his role as an Owner's Representative, Braden excels at managing projects throughout their lifecycle, whether it be from the initial stages of schematic design and procurement or providing valuable guidance to projects already in progress, ensuring successful completion. He is dedicated to delivering a seamless and enjoyable experience for his clients, aligning project execution with their goals while ensuring timely completion. Braden's expertise in construction management and his commitment to client satisfaction contribute to his abilities to deliver high-quality projects within established timelines.

Daniel Flora
Associate
Cuningham Group Architecture

With a diverse background in architecture, Daniel Flora brings a wealth of experience and a uniquely insightful perspective to the field of design. His portfolio spans various market types, including resort and hospitality, affordable housing, and master planning, showcasing his versatility and well-rounded skill set. Raised in Brussels, Belgium, Daniel developed a passion for travel and design from an early age, drawing inspiration from the contrast between the old and the new. After returning to the United States, he pursued his education at the University of Colorado. Following graduation, Daniel spent 15 years in the resort and hospitality sector designing ski resorts and mountain hotels. Currently, he is an Associate at Cuningham, focusing on multifamily project design with an emphasis on affordable housing. Notable ongoing projects include Eagle Meadows in Aurora and Central Park Urban Living in the Central Park neighborhood.

 

Garth Geer
President
Palace Construction

Garth Geer is the President of Palace Construction, a General Contractor in Denver, Colorado.  Garth is a Colorado native who has balanced his love of the great outdoors with his passion for participating in great construction projects that enhance our built environment.  After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado, Garth spent several years working with specialty contractors on projects of all shapes and sizes, from sheds to airports and basement remodels to baseball stadiums.  Garth joined Palace Construction in 2004 as a Project Engineer and, in 2019, was named the President.  He’s found it most rewarding to work on projects that positively impact the livelihoods of those who live, work, learn, and play in them.  

  

Dayna Ashley-Oehm
Development Director
Aurora Housing Authority

Dayna joined the Aurora Housing Authority in 2017. Her background includes organizational management consulting for school districts and non-profits, housing development for the Colorado Division of Housing, budget analysis for the Colorado Joint Budget Committee, and policy work for the National Conference of State Legislatures. Since joining the Housing Authority, Dayna has overseen the production of 215 new affordable units and the rehabilitation of 68 units totaling over $71.0 M development capital. In addition, the Authority has another 172 units under construction and 127 units in the active development pipeline. Dayna earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Colorado State University and her Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree from the University of Colorado. When not hunched over her computer, Dayna likes to play tennis, ski, hike and ride her bicycle.
